Our Story
How a farmers-market table, a crate of vinyl, and a hunch about real butter turned into a bakeshop.

It started at the market, with the record player up loud.
Groovy Aura began the way a lot of good things around Katy do — at a weekend farmers market, with a folding table, a hand-lettered sign, and Britney handing warm cookies across a crate of records. The batch that came out while the music was loud always seemed to taste a little better. We never really tested that theory. We just kept baking that way.
One stand mixer and a single sheet pan turned into a real weekly rhythm — cookies people started setting alarms for. We’re still small on purpose. Britney (that’s founder and head baker Britney D. Gray) still names every flavor before she writes the recipe, and every box still gets packed by hand.

Why “Groovy Aura”?
The moth, the disco ball, and the good vibes.
An aura is the vibe you give off — and ours is warm, a little retro, and impossible to fake, like a disco ball catching the light. The moth is our mascot: the small creature that always finds its way to the glow.
Put it together and you get Groovy Aura — cookies that pull you toward the good stuff. It’s on the box, it’s on the sign, and honestly, it’s the rule we bake by.
